Introducing EBlast

Posted on Feb 10 2012 - 12:31pm

Communicating with scouts/parents is one of the most important and time-consuming tasks unit leaders have. A typical scout/parent will receive multiple emails each week with reminders, information on new events, final details on upcoming events, changes in meeting schedules, volunteer requests, etc. For each of these, a unit leader will post content to website AND send an email to the appropriate group. The EBlast feature simplifies this process by sending out a weekly email to all unit members with new/updated website content from the last 7 days and a list of upcoming events. We are testing this new feature and would like your feedback.

OMG, Troop Roster is Online! ... But wait, there's more...

Posted on Feb 10 2012 - 12:19pm

Tired of waiting for the quarterly email containing the massive PDF file of the latest troop roster? Well you might want to sit down because it's now online for members who have logged in to this website. Just click on Troop Roster from the left side menu and be prepared to be amazed as bits and bytes are wrangled across the internet to give you the name and phone number of the new kid who joined your patrol last week. And if that was not exciting enough all this information is generated directly from our TroopMaster database maintained by our Advancement Chair. Ok that was probably not very exciting to you, so try clicking on your Scout's name on the roster to display all his current advancement information! When did Johnny complete First Class rank, it's online, what merit badges has he completed, it's in there, what are the winning lotto numbers, it's... well maybe in the next version. After the wave of exhilaration starts to wear off, take a moment to verify that your phone contact information is up to date and let us know if any changes are in order.
